There are many times in my busy life as a mom where it's easy to harbor low self-esteem. I think everyone is more important than myself and meeting their needs are more important than my own. But, does it really make me a better mom to run myself empty and not care for myself???
No way! I think T.D. Jakes said it best-"If you run out if gas, everyone riding with you will be left stranded."
I take comfort in knowing I serve a God that not only is willing, but He WANTS to meet my needs. It's His desire for me to be happy, healthy, and whole. He wants me to have peace and experience the joy of calm. When I schedule time to pray, study scripture, eat healthy, and even workout I'm nourishing my mind, body, and soul. That makes me a better mom, wife, friend, and overall person.
