This is kind of a big deal...My favorite ever workout comes out next month! It's the perfect low impact strength and flexibility workout. I've had several people msg me about it so I decided to do a Piyo Preview group. I'll have special info., preview videos, and I will even do a 5 day clean eating challenge complete with the shopping list, maybe we will even have a giveaway. It's all just for fun and info about PIYO. We'll start Monday. Space will be limited so let me know now if you want in!

You become what you think about most of the time. Are you focusing on your goals? Are you believing you can become the person you want to be? You have to believe in yourself. Don't feel your head with negative self-talk. You are a precious child of the One True King. Believe you are capable of greatness!
So obviously my form is not great here. I'm really going to start working on my flexibility again. I did yoga for about 10 years until my youngest was born. Since then I've really slacked off. I can tell my flexibility and my core strength have suffered. I can't wait until Piyo comes out so I can really dig in and get serious.
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid, do not be discouraged, for The Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. -Joshua 1:9
I want to share with you guys something that I’ve been dealing with for a long time. Over 3 years ago I started getting dry, flaky patches of skin on my face. I’ve always had oily skin, so this was really strange for me. I tried switching all my cosmetics and skin care products multiple times. I used all organic or high end products. I tried scrubs and creams, anything I could think of. It would get a little better, but never go away completely and always came back. So annoying! Many of you know I started a new workout and portion control program a couple of months ago. You have 6 containers and you eat a specified amount of each container a day depending on what caloric bracket you are in. You can pick and choose from a list the foods you eat. 3 days into it my skin was completely clear! All the dry, patchy skin was totally gone! After looking over my menu for the past few days I realized I had completely cut grains out of my diet! At first, I was like no way...I’ve never had a reaction to anything in my life! So, for curiosity's sake, I ate some bread. You guessed it...dry, flaky skin was right back the next morning. I tried this experiment a couple of times...because I’m a nerd about stuff like this. After doing a lot of research I’ve learned how unhealthy whole grains can be for you, mainly due to GMOs. Even organic grains have been modified. The only grains that are really healthy to eat are sprouted grains, like Ezekiel Bread. So, I’ve been slowly (ok not so slowly, much to their dismay) acclimating my family to sprouted grains. They are actually pretty good once you get used to them. I am loving Ezekiel Muffins. Has anyone else given up grains or had a similar experience with a food sensitivity?
My favorite verse: I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Phil 4:13 You already have everything you need to accomplish all your goals! What are you waiting for?
Most of us believe that eating fresh fruits and veggies is the way to go, and that’s true if you are buying your produce locally or growing it yourself. However, if you purchase your fruits and veggies from the grocery store then that may not be the case. Most produce has traveled a great distance and been exposed to extreme amounts of heat before reaching grocery store shelves. Produce is also generally picked under-ripe and the vitamins and nutrients that make fruits and veggies so great for us are not able to fully develop.
Frozen veggies, however, are picked at the peak of ripeness and are quickly flash frozen. This process locks in the essential nutrients and vitamins and removes bacteria. Canned Veggies are able to retain most of their nutrients through the canning process, except for Vitamin C. However, canned veggies are typically very high in salt, and the inside of the cans are usually coated with BPA. BPA is an abbreviation for Bisphenol A a chemical commonly used in plastics, packaging, receipt tape, etc. You have probably seen water bottles labeled BPA free. The problem with BPA is that it leaches into the canned food and when we eat that food it contaminates our body. BPA is a known hormone disruptor and can prove harmful to brain development in unborn babies and children. BPA is also thought to cause cancer and is linked to heart disease. I recommend that you get as many fruits and veggies locally as you can, and when that isn’t an option go with frozen. Almost all the veggies I buy from the grocery store are frozen. Don’t forget you can stock up on fresh veggies in season and freeze them yourselves. I stay away from canned veggies if at all possible. To me the risks outweigh the benefits. However you get your veggies try to increase your daily intake. The average person only eats ⅓ of the amount of veggies recommended. Where do you get your veggies? How do you start your day? When you get up in the morning do you take time to get into the word of God? Ask Him to give you direction for your day. Specifically ask Him to show you what to do and how to do it. If you are a born again the Holy Spirit is always with you, leading you toward holiness. Will you take a moment to surrender to Him today?
